Employment Services - Transitional Employment

To meet today's ever-changing workforce needs, business throughout the Lehigh Valley are turning to adults with disabilities to strengthen their labor force. Via Works is an employment service that subcontracts services for Lehigh Valley employers. Via Works focuses on training and skill development for people with disabilities so they may move on to individual jobs in the community.

A Via Works team, supervised by a Via Works employment consultant, can be contracted for services at your business. A small group of six to eight individuals with disabilities will work at your site under the supervision of a Via Works employment consultant and offer a variety of contract services including:

  • Clerical (copying, shredding)
  • Courier & Delivery Services (onsite)
  • Food Service (prep, clean up, delivery)
  • Housekeeping
  • Janitorial
  • Laundry Services
  • Light Manufacturing
  • Packaging Teams
  • Patient transport
  • Skilled Production and Packaging Teams
  • Sterilization of equipment
  • Stocking supplies & surgical trays
  • Warehouse Stocking

Via Works
Via Works strives to provide the best employment option for individuals with disabilities and excels at creating innovative employment solutions that match business' needs. Via enables adults with disabilities to work in integrated settings in the community and provides ongoing support so people can perform their job well. Via Works helps individuals tap into their natural network of support, like family, neighbors and friends, to help ensure job stability.

Via Works helps employees and employers make effective job matches and provides onsite job training and support so individuals can learn and retain their jobs. Via Works partner with area high schools, Intermediate Units, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, and Lehigh and Northampton Counties.

Low Administrative Cost & Guaranteed Workforce
Via Works teams are paid through Via of the Lehigh Valley minimizing your administrative costs. Via Works employment consultant are paid in part by Via of the Lehigh Valley and through funding from Lehigh and Northampton counties. In the event of an absence, Via Works will always fill in the team to ensure your company is receiving a guaranteed workforce.

Competitive Wages
Via Works teams provide businesses with high-quality work at competitive wages. Teams arrive at your site together and are supervised by a Via Works employment consultant.

Trained Workforce
Via Works employment consultants work with your company to learn the job responsibilities and train the Via Works team. Via Works employment consultants are trained to help their team assimilate into your work culture and answer any questions you or your employees may have about people with disabilities. Via Works employment consultants are also trained in the Americans with Disabilities Act and can offer you advice free of charge.

Creates Diverse Work Environment

Businesses have the opportunity to diversify their workforce and help decrease the 75% unemployment rate of people with disabilities. In addition, businesses help people with disabilities enter the work force and help give them economic power through a real paycheck. Via supervisors are trained to help Via consumers assimilate into the business' culture and answer any questions employers have about people with disabilities.
