Via of the Lehigh Valley Appoints New Executive Director/President, Mary Joy Kaiser-Reinartz
(September 22, 2010) Via of the Lehigh Valley, a non-profit human service agency that provides services for children and adults with disabilities, announced the appointment of its new executive director/president. Mary Joy Kaiser-Reinartz was selected following an extensive and thorough executive search process.

Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via Results
(September 12, 2010) More than 2,600 runners and walkers participated in Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via on Sunday, September 12, 2010.  Two hundred and three teams, 438 Full Marathon and 802 Half Marathon runners hit the streets running, while more than 350 walkers participated in a 5K Walk to help raise money for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for children and adults with disabilities.

Via Employment Director and Via Consumer to Present at National Employment Conference
(August 4, 2010) Corey Smith, Via community employment director, and Mike Menio, owner of Polka Time with Polka Mike, will present “Creative and Customized Employment Options” on Monday, August 9 at the Reinventing Quality Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.  The conference focuses on a vision of a better future for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Discovering the Skills and Talents of Adults with Autism
(June 11, 2010) People want to be connected to friends and family, and learn, work, and be respected for their choices.  Adults with autism want the same things.  Via provides services annually to 20 adults with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis (ASD).  Services are provided free of charge as part of the grant and Via is accepting adults in this program.

Moravian Student Wins Design Contest for Marathon Shirt
(May 6, 2010) The Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via reached out to students at Moravian College to put a new look on their race shirts.  Via enlisted the help and expertise of a graphics design class at Moravian to come up some new and exciting designs.

Adults with Disabilities Give Back to their Community
(April 15, 2010) Every week more than 100 individuals with disabilities set off from Via across the Lehigh Valley to volunteer their time and give back to their community.  They head off to organizations like the Children's Home of Easton, the Crayola Factory and the March of Dimes to help make their community a better place.

Hall of Fame Inductees Announces Lehigh Valley Basketball Hall of Fame
(February 24, 2010) The Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame announced the 2010 inductees to be honored at the Via All-Star Banquet, presented by East Penn Bank, on March 24, 2010.  The Hall of Fame was established in 1978 and honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to high school basketball in the Lehigh Valley.

Via All-Star Basketball Classic Announces Players, Speaker and Clinic for Kids with Special Needs
(February 19, 2010) The teams have been picked and the match-ups set for what promises to be a riveting day of end-to-end, high-spirited basketball for this year’s Via All-Star Classic.   The best players in the greater Lehigh Valley have been chosen to represent their high schools in the 35th annual Via All-Star Basketball Classic which raises funds for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for adults and children with disabilities.

Via’s Teen Summer Program – Now Accepting Registration
(February 19, 2010) Young people want to be connected to friends and family, and learn, work, and be respected for their choices.  Via’s Teen Summer Experience, now accepting registration, helps teens develop social skills and peer networks that lead to success in young adult life, career development and independence.

Via Employment Program Receives $340,000 in Grants and Recognized as Beacon of Excellence
(November 9, 2009) Via of the Lehigh Valley received a $315,000 grant from the PA Developmental Disabilities Council and a $25,000 grant and recognition as a Beacon of Employment Excellence in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities from the PA Medicaid Infrastructure Grant.

Via Marathon Raises $135,450 for Children and Adults with Disabilities
(November 6, 2009) More than 2,500 runners and walkers raised $135,450 in the Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via on Sunday, September 13, 2009.

Via Receives $275,000 Grant for Three-Year Autism Program
(November 3, 2009) Via of the Lehigh Valley received a $275,000 grant from Lehigh County HealthChoices for a program to provide support and services to adults age 21 and older with autism. Through this three-year grant, Via will provide services annually to 20 adults with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis (ASD).

Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame Now Accepting Nominations
(October 29, 2009) The Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for individuals to be considered for the Valley’s highest basketball honor.

Via Employment Program Receives $10,000 Educational Grant
(October 28, 2009) Via’s Employment program received $10,000 from the PA Medicaid Infrastructure Grant Promoting Social Security’s Work Incentives to help people with disabilities find jobs. Via’s Employment program provides job development, job coaching and follow-along support to adults with disabilities so they can work in the community.

Via Gives Back – Via Volunteers Give Thousands of Hours Each Year at Local Agencies
(October 20, 2009) When you volunteer, you give part of yourself – your time, talent, energy and skills. When you volunteer, you give back to your family and friends, to your neighbors, and to your community. (August 12, 2009) Runners take your mark… the Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via (LVHN Marathon) course has been finalized and has a new finish line. The LVHN Marathon presented by WFMZ – Channel 69 and Wegmans will end at Center Square in Easton.

(July 31, 2009) Via’s Teen Summer Experience for teens and young adults with disabilities will be featured on Philadelphia’s CBS3 morning news program on Monday, August 3 (between 8:30 and 9am).

Aimee Mullins, model, actress and advocate Announced as Via All-Star Banquet Speaker
(March 3, 2009) Aimee Mullins, born in Allentown, first received worldwide media attention as an athlete. Born without fibulae in both legs, Mullins’ medical prognosis was bleak; she would never walk and indeed would spend the rest of her life using a wheelchair. In an attempt for an outside chance at independent mobility, doctors amputated both her legs below the knee on her first birthday.

New Starting Line, New Course Design for Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via
(January 27, 2009) Runners take your mark… the Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via (LVHN Marathon) has a new start and a new look.  The LVHN Marathon presented by WFMZ – Channel 69 and Wegmans announced today the 26.2 mile course will start at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest and take runners through the Lehigh Parkway to the Lehigh River Canal Towpath continuing through Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton.
