Via Employment Program Receives $340,000 in Grants and Recognized as Beacon of Excellence
(November 9, 2009) Via of the Lehigh Valley received a $315,000 grant from the PA Developmental Disabilities Council and a $25,000 grant and recognition as a Beacon of Employment Excellence in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities from the PA Medicaid Infrastructure Grant.
Via Marathon Raises $135,450 for Children and Adults with Disabilities
(November 6, 2009) More than 2,500 runners and walkers raised $135,450 in the Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via on Sunday, September 13, 2009.
Via Receives $275,000 Grant for Three-Year Autism Program
(November 3, 2009) Via of the Lehigh Valley received a $275,000 grant from Lehigh County HealthChoices for a program to provide support and services to adults age 21 and older with autism. Through this three-year grant, Via will provide services annually to 20 adults with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis (ASD).
Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame Now Accepting Nominations
(October 29, 2009) The Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for individuals to be considered for the Valley’s highest basketball honor.
Via Employment Program Receives $10,000 Educational Grant
(October 28, 2009) Via’s Employment program received $10,000 from the PA Medicaid Infrastructure Grant Promoting Social Security’s Work Incentives to help people with disabilities find jobs. Via’s Employment program provides job development, job coaching and follow-along support to adults with disabilities so they can work in the community.

Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via Results
(September 13, 2009) More than 2,600 runners and walkers participated in Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Two hundred and twelve teams, 400 Full Marathon and 625 Half Marathon runners hit the streets running, while more than 600 walkers participated in a 5K Walk to help raise money for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for children and adults with disabilities.
Marathon Course Finalized, New Finish Line
(August 12, 2009) Runners take your mark… the Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via (LVHN Marathon) course has been finalized and has a new finish line. The LVHN Marathon presented by WFMZ – Channel 69 and Wegmans will end at Center Square in Easton.
Via Teen Program to be Featured on CBS Morning Show
(July 31, 2009) Via’s Teen Summer Experience for teens and young adults with disabilities will be featured on Philadelphia’s CBS3 morning news program on Monday, August 3 (between 8:30 and 9am).

Adults with Disabilities Give Back to their Community
(April 9, 2009) Every week more than 100 individuals set off from Via across the Lehigh Valley to volunteer their time and give back to their community. They head off to organizations like Luther Crest Retirement Community, the Crayola Factory and the Salvation Army to help make their community a better place.
Aimee Mullins, model, actress and advocate Announced as Via All-Star Banquet Speaker
(March 3, 2009) Aimee Mullins, born in Allentown, first received worldwide media attention as an athlete. Born without fibulae in both legs, Mullins’ medical prognosis was bleak; she would never walk and indeed would spend the rest of her life using a wheelchair. In an attempt for an outside chance at independent mobility, doctors amputated both her legs below the knee on her first birthday.

New Starting Line, New Course Design for Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via
(January 27, 2009) Runners take your mark… the Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via (LVHN Marathon) has a new start and a new look. The LVHN Marathon presented by WFMZ – Channel 69 and Wegmans announced today the 26.2 mile course will start at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest and take runners through the Lehigh Parkway to the Lehigh River Canal Towpath continuing through Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton.
Via’s Teen Summer Program – Now Accepting Registration Whole New Experience for Teen’s with Disabilities
(January 23, 2009) Young people want to be connected to friends and family, and learn, work, and be respected for their choices. Vias Teen Summer Experience, now accepting registration, helps teens develop social skills and peer networks that lead to success in young adult life, career development and independence.
