Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame Now Accepting Nominations

BETHLEHEM, PA – The Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for individuals to be considered for the Valley’s highest basketball honor. Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame nominations are open to the entire community and can be submitted through the Via All-Star Basketball Classic website www.ViaNet.org.
The Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame was established in 1978 and honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to high school basketball in the Lehigh Valley. The 2010 Hall of Fame class will be announced in early March and individuals will be inducted at the Via All-Star Basketball Banquet on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Nominations close on January 1, 2010. Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame criteria can be found on www.ViaNet.org.
In addition, the Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame is in the process of creating a virtual Hall to celebrate its members hosted at www.ViaNet.org. Current Hall of Fame members are listed there now, along with their induction year and basketball affiliation. The community is invited to share biographical information and photographs to include in the Hall of Fame. They can be sent to Via@ViaNet.org or mailed to Via All-Star Classic, Attn: Hall of Fame, 336 W. Spruce St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
The 35 th Annual Via All-Star Basketball Classic raises funds for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for adults and children with disabilities. The Via All-Star Basketball Classic showcases the basketball talents of local area student athletes.
Via of the Lehigh Valley is a non-profit human service agency that provides services for children and adults with developmental disabilities like autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and mental retardation. Serving the community since 1954, Via’s staff help individuals and families from birth through retirement focusing in Children’s Services, Community Connections and Employment.
Via works with children up to age three in their homes and daycares to address disabilities and delays. Via finds jobs in the community for adults and provides coaching and training for successful employment. And Via helps people connect and live in their community by volunteering, participating in leisure activities, and finding or purchasing affordable, accessible housing. Via fosters and advocates the concept of inclusion and choice with in schools, neighborhoods and communities, personal relationships, and employment. Via believes that personal satisfaction and dignity are achieved through individual success and independence and is committed to helping people live full and productive lives.
