Via Retirement Program Receives Two Rivers Grant
(December 9, 2008) Via of the Lehigh Valley received a $7,000 grant from the Two Rivers Health and Wellness Foundation for its retirement program serving adults with disabilities. Via’s Retirement program helps individuals transition from Via’s sheltered workshop to retirement activities in senior centers and programs for seniors in their communities.
Via Teen Program Receives Rider - Pool Grant
(December 9, 2008) Via of the Lehigh Valley received a $2,000 grant from the Rider‐Pool Foundation for its teen program, Focus On You. This program provides teens and young adults, who have a wide range of special needs, with educational, vocational and recreational activities in the community.
Service Electric and Via Launch Community Wide Clothing Drive
(December 4, 2008) Join Service Electric Cable TV and Communications this holiday season for a community clothing drive for Via Thrift Stores. The Service Electric and Via Clothing Drive runs all of December and January. Donate your unwanted clothing and household items to Via Thrift Stores and help provide a bright future for children with disabilities.
34th Annual Via All-Star Basketball Classic Announces New Lead Sponsor, New Location and Dates
(December 3, 2008) The Via All-Star Basketball Classic returns for its 34th year to raise funds for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for adults and children with disabilities. Via is pleased to announce that East Penn Bank, a division of Harleysville National Bank, has taken the role of lead sponsor for the Via All-Star Basketball Classic that showcases the basketball talents of local area student athletes.
Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame Announces New Nomination Process
(November 18, 2008) The Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame announced a new nomination process for individuals to be considered for the Valley’s highest basketball honor. Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Hall of Fame nominations have been opened up to the entire community and nominations can submitted through ViaNet.org.
It May Just Be Old Clothing To You…
(October 17, 2008) Companies are helping Via of the Lehigh Valley raise money for programs for children with disabilities in a unique way this fall. D&B and other Lehigh Valley companies are hosting clothing drives to benefit Via’s Children’s Services.
Via Presents Sibshops for Siblings of Children with Special Needs
(October 1, 2008) Brothers and sisters of children with disabilities now have a chance to meet and talk with other children whose brothers and sisters have special needs. They’ll have an opportunity to talk about the good and not-so-good parts of having a sibling with a disability.
Lehigh Valley Hospital Marathon for Via Results
(September 7, 2008) More than 1,600 runners and walkers participated in Lehigh Valley Hospital Marathon for Via on Sunday, September 7, 2008. One hundred and eighty-nine teams and 254 runners hit the streets running, while over 300 walkers participated in a 5K Walk to help raise money for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for children and adults with disabilities.
Lehigh Valley Hospital Marathon for Via Race Update
(September 5, 2008) More than 1,460 runners and walkers are ready to lace up their sneakers for the Lehigh Valley Hospital Marathon for Via this Sunday, September 7, 2008. One hundred and eighty-nine teams and 254 runners will hit the streets running to help raise money for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for children and adults with disabilities. While registration is closed for the running races, the 5K Walk through historic Bethlehem is still accepting walkers right up through the walk start at 10am on Sunday.

A Whole New Experience for Teen’s with Disabilities, Via’s Teen Summer Experience
(July 9, 2008) Via’s Teen Summer Experience for teens and young adults with disabilities kicked off earlier this month. This program helps young adults connect to their community through recreational, social, volunteer and educational activities to help prepare for adult life. Yesterday, Via’s Teen Summer Experience visited NorthStar Adventure at Dutch Springs which specializes in hands-on education and teaching. Participants were guided through activities that focus on communication, problem solving, team building, trust, breaking out of comfort zones and fun.
Allentown Fire Department Defends Via Cup Title
(June 30, 2008) The Firedogs are ready to defend their title for the Lehigh Valley Hospital Marathon for Via on Sunday, September 7, 2008. The Firedogs will compete again for the Via Cup, a race division for teams that work or volunteer for the same city, borough or township. Last year, the team from the Allentown Fire Department finished the five-person relay in three hours and four minutes.
Via Presents Awards to Staff for Exemplary Performance and Years of Service
(June 10, 2008) BETHLEHEM, PA – Via of the Lehigh Valley presented awards to employees recognizing outstanding service for people with disabilities and recognized 111 years of employee service. Via is a non-profit human service agency that has been providing services for children and adults with disabilities, like autism, Down syndrome, since 1954.
Via and Lehigh Valley Hospital Announce New Lehigh Valley Marathon Partnership
(April 9, 2008) Via of the Lehigh Valley announced a new partnership with Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH) for the Via Marathon scheduled for September 7, 2008. LVH has taken the role as title sponsor of the newly named Lehigh Valley Hospital Marathon for Via presented by 69 WFMZ-TV.
Via All-Star Basketball Classic Announces Team Selections
(February 29, 2008) The Via All-Star Basketball Classic returns for its 33rd year to raise funds for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s programs for adults and children with disabilities. Players for the All-Star teams and participants for the Coordinated Health 3-Point Shooting contest were announces today.
