Mimi Griffin | ESPN's primary women's basketball analyst from 1983 through 1999

Mimi Griffin is considered to be the first broadcast expert for women's college basketball. She served as the “face” for the sport in its early television exposure as she laid the foundation and groundwork for women's basketball on television. Mimi worked as ESPN's primary women's basketball analyst from 1983 through 1999 and with CBS Sports from 1985 through 1991. 1n 1990, she became the first woman to serve as a color analyst for a men's NCAA tournament game on ESPN and in 1991, was the first woman to broadcast the first two rounds of the men's NCAA basketball tournament on CBS Sports. This accomplishment is noted in the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Mimi served as the studio analyst along with Robin Roberts for ESPN's coverage of the NCAA Women's Basketball tournament during the 1996 through 1999 seasons. She relinquished her duties with ESPN in 2000 to take advantage of the opportunity to coach her son Kyle's CYO basketball team at St. Thomas More in Allentown. She was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2014.

In addition to her broadcasting work, Mimi Griffin has owned and operated MSG Promotions, Inc. since its inception in 1983. Her extensive experience in the sports and event management fields has facilitated MSG's successful execution of many prestigious events. This outstanding reputation has been recognized specifically by the United States Golf Association, who selected MSG to manage the corporate hospitality sales, fulfillment and operations for the U.S. Open Championships each year since 1995.

Mimi also served as Championship Director for the 1992 and 2000 U.S. Senior Opens and the 2009 U.S. Women's Open which were all hosted by Saucon Valley Country Club.

She was named one of the “Best 50 Women in Business” in Pennsylvania by Governor Edward G. Rendell and the Department of Community & Economic Development and in 2013 was selected as one of SportsBusiness Journal's “Game Changers: Women in Sports Business,” which honors women who have affected change in the sports industry. Mimi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and Masters in Business Administration from Lehigh University. After completing her degrees, Ms. Griffin held event marketing positions at Manufacturers Hanover Trust (1980-83) and Converse (1983-85).
